Hygienist
Ashton Portman
Ashton Portman is a well-trained, patient-focused Dental Hygienist with 12 years of experience. She has a warm smile and confident manner that immediately makes her patients feel welcome and comfortable. Ashton was born and raised in St. Joseph and while attending Central High School she volunteered in a local dental office. She quickly knew her passion was in dentistry. She attended Missouri Western State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Health Sciences Emphasis from Missouri Western State College followed by an Associate Degree in Applied Science from North Central Missouri College. She earned a Certificate of Dental Hygiene from Hillyard Technical School where she was honored to receive the Outstanding Student Award in 2011.
Ashton and her husband Trevor have three young boys and two dogs. The family enjoys football, baseball, camping, kayaking, water skiing, hunting, and just about everything outdoors!
Hygienist
Betsy Wall
Betsy (Cornelius) Wall was born and raised on a dairy farm about six miles east of St. Joseph, Missouri. After being homeschooled kindergarten through high school, she pursued a degree in biblical counseling before discovering her passion for dentistry in an orphanage on a mission trip to Russia. Betsy has worked in the dental field for over twenty years as an assistant, receptionist, practice management coordinator, and dental hygienist. After receiving her dental hygiene degree from Johnson County Community College, she worked full time as a dental hygienist while getting her degree in dental hygiene education from UMKC. After receiving that degree, she taught dental hygiene part-time on the college level and continued to work in private practice.
Betsy and her husband, Read, who is a physical therapist, have two children, a boy and a girl. She now works part- time, so that she can be a full-time stay-at-home mom and home school her two children. Her hobbies include reading, knitting, puzzles, and scrap booking.
Assistant
Kimberly Clark
Kimberly grew up in St. Joseph & graduated from Benton High School. She has been a Dental Assistant for 25 years. Kimberly obtained her Expanded Functions certification in Restorative & Prosthodontics, from Ozark Technical Community College. She has been working within this office since 1997 and has grown to love her patients.
Kimberly is married & together they have 4 children. They live in Stewartsville, Mo & enjoy taking care of their chickens, goats & sheep. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family & dogs.
Dental Hygienist
Cortney Casteel
With over 22 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist, Cortney has has built a distinguished career in dental care. Raised in Central Nebraska, Cortney completed general education requirements through University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She then transferred to Central Community College in Hastings to earn her certification as a Registered Dental Assistant before advancing to becoming a Dental Hygienist in 2002. Recognized for exceptional service, Cortney was honored with the Golden Scaler Award and is a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has also been actively involved in volunteer work, including Crest Special Smiles and HeadStart. She went on to achieve an Associate Fellowship in Biolase Ezlase utilizing Dental Lasers in 2010.
Outside of work, Cortney resides on a hobby farm near Maryville with her husband. They have one son who plays collegiate football at Benedictine. They enjoy spending time with their goats and dog and are enthusiastic supporters of their son’s athletic endeavors.
Front Desk
Jennifer White
Jennifer grew up in Savannah and graduated from Savannah High School. Jennifer started in Dentistry in 1997 and obtained her Expanded Functions at Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City Mo. She started working in this office in 2021 at the front desk.
Jennifer has three children they live in Savannah and enjoy spending time with friends and family watching her son play Savage football, Chiefs games, playing cards, and playing with her puppy Sneed.
